Hey, I’m Jess — a support worker who never finishes a shift looking the same as when I started.

Let’s be honest: my clothes are always messy.
If there isn’t something spilled on me, stuck to me, or mysteriously smeared somewhere… did I even work today?

Half the time I look like I wrestled a cereal bowl, a support plan, and a whole emotional storyline before 10am.
So when I couldn’t find shirts that suited the real support-worker life — the kind you don’t need to stress about ruining — I started making my own.

Shift Happens Co. was born out of lived experience, not aesthetics.
Out of chaos, not curation.
Out of heart, not hype.

Active Support Is My Foundation

I’m big on “doing with,” not “doing for.”
Active support is the backbone of how I work, how I show up, and honestly — how I see people.

It’s never been about being a hero.
It’s about walking beside someone, letting them lead, letting them grow, and letting them be themselves with dignity and choice.

That philosophy is stitched into every design, every message, every mug, every tee.

I Love My Clients — Truly

My clients aren’t just “people I support.”
They’re real humans who make my days brighter, funnier, fuller, and sometimes beautifully unpredictable.

They’ve taught me patience, compassion, resilience, creativity, and the ability to laugh even when things go sideways.
They bring out the best in me — even on the days when I’m running on 2 hours of sleep and a prayer.

A lot of what I create is inspired by them:
the conversations, the routines, the heart-to-heart moments, the chaos, the growth, the silliness, and the pure humanity.

They matter to me. Deeply.

Why I Started Shift Happens Co.

Because nobody was making merch for us — the support workers, carers, nurses, students and shift-life warriors who keep everything moving on pure compassion and caffeine.

Our work is meaningful and messy.
Emotional and chaotic.
Challenging and beautiful.
Absolutely exhausting and absolutely worth it.
